🌱 UPDATE #2 FOR SOYBEAN I 2022 SPONSORS

I am coming to you once again to update you on the progress of your soybean sponsored farms. Field Establishment: All soybean fields have established successfully in all three (3) communities. At the begining of the season, observation of soybean seed emergence across some fields were good, giving fields a good population stands while areas that experienced low rainfall had low emergence across a few field. Farmers were encourgaed to refill fields with low plant stand to increase the plant population for good yield. Crop Growth Phase : Soybean plants are at varying stage of vegetative and reproductive growth. All soybean fields have gone pass the Emergence (VE) with about 5% in their third Trifoliate (V3) stage. About 10% of the fields have plants in the fourth Trifoliate (V4) stage and the remaining 15% of the fields entering into their Fifth Trifoliate (V5) stage. 70% of farms are in the reproductive phase of growth. Some plants have begun blooming (flowering) while others are have begun pod formation. Farms that were planted are in full pod stage and growing rapidly to begin seed formation. The reproductive stage is a critical stage that is highly sensitive to moisture stress and at the same time a critical yield determination period, however, with enough rainfall recorded for the past weeks, we hope to have good pod filling. Plants in this stage are growing rapidly with no challenges currently reported. Crop Protection : Farmers are currently controlling weeds in the various farms. This is to reduce competition among the soybean plants and weeds as well as reduce pest and disease infestation. The farming team is scouting out for pests and disease to ensure proper measures are put in place to control them. Weather Condition: Rainfall recorded in the three communities from End of July through to mid -September have been sufficient with good moisture content across fields. No plant stress has been recorded.
