Cocoa, is popularly known as the main component of Chocolate. It has the botanical name Theobroma cacao and is widely consumed across the world as chocolate bars or drinks. Did you know that Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire produce 60 -70% of the world's Cocoa? That means 60 - 70% of the chocolate you eat or drink is coming from Ghana where Grow For Me is headquartered. Now you have a wonderful opportunity to pay farmers well for the cocoa they produced, by participating in cocoa trades on Grow For Me. When you finance a cocoa trade, the money is used to purchase cocoa from farmers through the Ghana Cocoa Board (GCB). The GCB works with primary dealers to raise the needed money for purchasing cocoa from farmers. One of such amazing dealers is Obsidian Achernar (OA). We work with OA to fund the GCB with the needed money through the purchase of cocoa bonds via OB issued by the Bank of Ghana regularly. This is a government of Ghana guarantee bond and has successfully operated for the past nineteen (19) years. The bonds we purchase run for six (6) months. Now for the first time in history, you will be able to change the narrative of Africa not being able to fund its own, feed its own and buy its own. By playing an active role in cocoa trading in Ghana and Africa. Buy your first cocoa bag on www.growforme.com or dial *800*008# Read more about Cocoa Board here: https://cocobod.gh/news/cocoa-producer-price-goes-up-28-from-gh515-to-gh660-per-bag

The cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale) is a tropical evergreen tree native to South America in the genus Anacardium that produces the cashew seed and the cashew apple accessory fruit. The tree can grow as tall as 14 metres (46 feet), but the dwarf cultivars, growing up to 6 m (20 ft), prove more profitable, with earlier maturity and greater yields. The cashew seed is commonly considered a snack nut (cashew nut) eaten on its own, used in recipes, or processed into cashew cheese or cashew butter.Like the tree, the nut is often simply called a cashew. Cashew allergies are triggered by the proteins found in tree nuts, and cooking often does not remove or change these proteins. In 2019, four million tonnes of cashew nuts were produced globally, with Ivory Coast and India as the leading producers. As well as the nut and fruit, the plant has several other uses. The shell of the cashew seed yields derivatives that can be used in many applications including lubricants, waterproofing, paints, and, starting in World War II, arms production. The cashew apple is a light reddish to yellow fruit, whose pulp and juice can be processed into a sweet, astringent fruit drink or fermented and distilled into liquor. Commodity trading in Ghana is growing significantly. Especially Soybean Trade. Financing commodity trade enables us to raise needed funds to provide aggregators and farmers with a ready market to buy their harvested soybeans. This ensures the aggregator or farmer has a ready market to pay for the commodity. After purchasing, cleaning, and bagging commodities from farmers through aggregators, Grow For Me sends the commodity to the Ghana Commodity Exchange (GCX) for trading. We target a slight profit margin. Commodities are sold to Off-takers including processing factories, exports, and local retailers. We have also included ACRES OF CHANGE- Soybean Trade program. This program is a collaboration between Grow For Me and Acres Agriculture, to create sustainable agricultural practices using their flagship product; Acres Nano Organic Fertilizer (ACRES). The three core benefits of this program include: Restoring Life to The Soil - ACRES is a unique, organic fertilizer and soil conditioner that rejuvenates the soil and accelerates plant growth rates and yield to leverage the soil’s microbiome and its ability to feed and protect plants along with other beneficial life that resides there. Remediation of Waterways & Waste - Soil remediation of toxicity and metals, treatment of wastewater and decomposition of waste materials, in turn, generate layers of topsoil and promote macroorganisms (earthworms, etc.) to move and bring life to the soil thereby allowing for the treatment of wastewaters to be recycled for use or redirected and applied towards the irrigation of crops. Carbon & Climate Impact- The soils used to grow our global food supply represent the greatest opportunity for taking carbon from the air and storing it underground in healthy soil. ACRES is compatible with carbon capture as well as sustainable, regenerative farming best practices.

1. Overview The Ghana Agriculture Fund for Education and Transformation (GAFET) is an initiative of the Ministry of Food & Agriculture designed as a sustainable national endowment for agricultural education in Ghana. Its purpose is to create a lasting source of financing for the institutions that develop Ghana’s future agricultural engineers, researchers, agribusiness leaders, entrepreneurs and other professionals. Rather than relying on one-off grants, GAFET pools contributions into a professionally managed fund, preserves the principal capital and uses annual investment returns to support approved institutional priorities. 2. Why GAFET Matters The Fund responds to a structural financing challenge in agricultural education. The GAFET materials state that agriculture contributes approximately 22% of Ghana’s GDP, while only about 2% of tertiary students are enrolled in agricultural programmes. They also estimate an annual funding gap of GHS 12 million across agricultural education institutions. According to the Fund materials, persistent underfunding limits student attraction, practical training and graduate readiness, despite agriculture’s central role in Ghana’s economy. The identified consequences include weak talent pipelines, low youth participation, limited agro-innovation, weak extension services, lower productivity and less resilient food systems. 3. How the Endowment Works Contributors: Government, agribusinesses, financial institutions, development partners, philanthropists and individuals provide capital. Fund Account: Approved contributions are pooled in the GAFET Fund Account. Custody and Investment: Fund assets are safeguarded by an appointed custodian and invested by the Fund Manager under a Board-approved Investment Policy Statement. Institutional Support: Annual investment returns primarily finance approved priorities at beneficiary institutions, while the principal capital is preserved to sustain long-term impact. 4. Governance and Accountability GAFET is structured around Board oversight, preservation of principal, approved disbursements, reporting and audit. The accountability framework highlighted in the Fund materials includes Governing Board oversight, Board-approved disbursements, regular investment and impact reporting, and an independent annual audit. These mechanisms are intended to ensure that contributions are protected, professionally managed and deployed only toward approved priorities. 5. What the Fund Will Unlock Practical learning: Demonstration farms, irrigation, inputs and field facilities. Mechanization: Machinery, engineering tools and equipment maintenance. Research and innovation: Laboratories, food science and climate-smart solutions. Fabrication and technology: Prototyping, locally adaptable equipment and digital agriculture. Agribusiness and enterprise: Incubation, commercialization and industry partnerships. People and institutions: Faculty development, scholarships, digital systems and learning infrastructure. 6. Expected Results Job-ready graduates Stronger institutions More agricultural enterprises Greater innovation More resilient food systems 7. Beneficiary Institutions GAFET is intended to benefit 21 tertiary institutions that provide agricultural education in Ghana. The Fund materials group these beneficiaries into 5 standalone Agricultural Colleges and 16 Universities and Technical Universities. As the endowment grows, annual returns are intended to support approved priorities across these institutions. 8. Fund Growth Pathway Seed target: GHS 3.5 million. December 2026 target: GHS 10 million initial endowment. By 2028 target: GHS 100 million cumulative capital. Note: the cover material also states a “GHS 100 million initial endowment target by December 2028,” while the Fund Growth Pathway describes GHS 10 million as the December 2026 initial endowment and GHS 100 million as cumulative capital by 2028. This wording should be harmonized in future official materials. 9. Invitation to Contribute GAFET invites Government, agribusinesses, financial institutions, development partners, philanthropists and individuals to become contributors and help build a permanent financing platform for agricultural skills, innovation, employment and food security in Ghana. Founding contributors will help establish a long-term national mechanism capable of strengthening the institutions that train the people and develop the technologies required for a more productive and resilient agricultural sector. 10. Contact Information in the Source Material Steven Odarteifio: +233 55 106 4918 Hon. Kwasi Etu-Bonde: +233 26 815 1375 11. Summary GAFET converts contributions into a long-term, professionally managed endowment for agricultural education. By preserving capital and financing approved priorities from annual returns, the Fund aims to close critical financing gaps, modernize practical agricultural training, strengthen research and innovation, improve graduate readiness and support the growth of agricultural enterprises. Its long-term ambition is to create a durable national financing platform that strengthens Ghana’s agricultural education system and, in turn, contributes to employment, productivity, innovation and food security.
